v2.4.1

Auto task detection has been catching action items in your meetings for a while. Starting with v2.4.1, every task it creates carries something new: a link back to its origin — the transcript, the timestamp, and the sentence where the commitment was actually made.

Open any auto-detected task and you’ll see a small source line: From “Client review — June 6”, at 23:41. Click it and you land in the transcript at that exact moment, with the surrounding discussion intact.

Why origins matter

A task without context is a puzzle. “Update the pricing page” — to say what? Decided by whom? Before which deadline? The person assigned either remembers, asks around, or guesses. All three cost time; the third costs trust.

With the origin link, the answer is one click away:

  • The full context — not just the sentence, but the two minutes of discussion around it.
  • Who committed — the transcript shows who said “I’ll take it,” not just who got assigned.
  • What “done” means — acceptance criteria are usually spoken out loud; now they’re attached.

This also works in reverse. From any transcript, you can see which tasks came out of it — a meeting’s actual output, listed under its recording. If a meeting produced nothing, that’s visible too. We find that clarifying.

Better detection, fewer false positives

Origin links shipped alongside a detection upgrade. Auto detection now distinguishes commitments from hypotheticals more reliably:

  1. “I’ll send the deck tomorrow” → task, assigned, due date suggested.
  2. “Someone should probably look at the deck at some point” → flagged as a suggestion, not silently turned into a task.
  3. “We sent the deck last week” → correctly ignored.

Suggestions land in a review tray instead of your board. One click confirms them into real tasks; ignoring them costs nothing. Your kanban stays a list of actual commitments, not a transcript of everything anyone mused about.

A task board you trust is one where every card answers “says who?”

Works with your existing flow

Nothing changes in how you run meetings. Record as usual, and 5DAYS transcribes (150+ languages), detects, and links. Detected tasks flow into the same Kanban, Matrix, List, and Calendar views as manual ones — and if you sync tasks to Salesforce, Teamwork, or HubSpot, the origin link travels along as a reference URL.

Existing auto-detected tasks got origin links retroactively where the source transcript still exists, so your backlog just became a lot more self-explanatory.

v2.4.1 is live for all plans today. Open a task you didn’t write yourself and see where it came from.
